Can we please, please – PLEASE! not make the nonsensical US date format month/day/year the default in applications? 🤦‍♂️

PRE 👏 TTY 👏 PLEASE

And to all users of that format: it makes no sense, it's counter-intuitive, it makes collaboration frustrating, it introduces inconsistencies and errors... Just stop. Please. Use international standards.
(And don't get me started on your other units of weights, volumes and distances. Bloody hell.)

Boost if I'm right.

if your github readme is meant to explain how to run your application, but running all the commands you list fails to start your application, your readme sucks

90% of the times that i give up on using/contributing to FOSS it's because the readme assumes i already have and am a poweruser of some dependency that i've never used and doesn't explain anything about how to use it

I've gotten github.com/marcosfad/mbp-ubunt running on my MacBook Pro for the time being. Works pretty well!

Are they expecting that companies will adopt their standard instead of ActivityPub in the future due to their brand?

What could the benefit for them be over just using ActivityPub? Maybe the PR that comes with being seen as the inventors of something great rather than just the users? Or maybe they'll find some way to sneak centralized user directories or account "verification" in there that they can then use to scrape data and track users?
